Last August 25, lifestyle sneaker boutique SneakPeek officially launched its partnership with global streetwear brand Staple Pigeon, through its Unlocked series which was held at Shangri-la mall. The main man himself, Jeff Staple, was in town to unveil the brand’s Summer 2016 collection, along with a special release of the Staple x Nike ID Air Max Zero ‘Pigeon’, exclusive only to the Philippines. As Jeff put it, he wanted to give a gift to the Philippines and to his Filipino fans with the creation of this special colorway.
The 2-day visit featured a series of different events which started with exclusive media interviews and the summer collection launch during the first day, followed by the Staple x Nike Air Max Zero raffle and Jeff Staple’s talk the following day. Another special guest, Simon ‘Woody’ Wood, founder of the leading sneaker magazine Sneaker Freaker was also present during the whole event to meet with sneakerheads and share how SF all began.
For its Summer 2016 collection, Staple Pigeon pulls inspiration from a myriad of bold patterns and classic design aesthetics. The collection is greatly influenced by traditional Asian floral prints, military pantones, nomadic travel, and sneaker design and culture. This motivation is translated in an exquisite fusion between bright all-over prints, and clean, stylish casual garments, all designed with a close regard to detail for which the Staple brand is known. Showcasing some motif-on-motif designs with the sly blend of florals and polka dots, the brand demonstrates its dynamic, adventurous and daring taste.
