Last Monday, we got to test out the latest Nike React Hyperdunk 2017 Flyknit on court at the media runs held by Nike PH. Set at the Titan Love Court, a select number of media writers, bloggers and TV personalities were invited to try out the shoe first hand before its release on August 3. Nike PH held a mini tournament of 4 teams, with each team getting much needed reinforcement from some of the country’s premiere basketball players and current Nike athletes. Kiefer Ravena, LA Tenorio, Gabe Norwood and Scottie Thompson led their respective teams in a single round format, with Scottie Thompson’s team emerging as the champs.
The new Hyperdunk 2017 boasts of NIke’s latest cushioning technology called React which features the greatest energy return in any of Nike’s foams. And, it’s the most durable too. The upper consists of full flyknit meshed with tpu strands in high wear areas for added stability and support. After putting the shoe to the test for two hours on an outdoor court, the shoe held up really well. It felt quick on the court, provided good impact protection, and that responsiveness was spot on. The knees and joints were all good too after balling on the cement court, which tells a lot about the shoe. Stay tuned for a full performance review soon as we get to test out the shoe more.
